Lebanon Valley SpeedwayFull 8 Sports Marketing – Mother Nature finally decided she was a race fan. As fans filed into the stands at The High Banks of Lebanon Valley, drivers were milling about happy to be back at the track for the first time since the beginning of the month. With the winter weather refusing to leave and two consecutive rainouts, the 4-cylinder class would finally get to make their debut.

The 32DD was as ready to hit the track as it's driver was. Tomm would start 5th in the nightcap event. The green flag dropped and the shuffle began immediately. Tomm came out with the advantage gaining 2 spots before turn 1. Things settled out nicely as Tomm would ride around in 3rd place for much of the race. A spin would bring out the caution early but an uneventful restart would see Tomm keep his 3rd place position, playing follow the leaders with the 1st and 2nd place cars. With only a few laps to go in the 15 lap feature, the 2nd place car of Chris White blew the motor. Getting caught up in the fluid on the track, Tomm came out of turn 2 sideways but was able to avoid making contact with the wall or any other cars. The restart would be tense with only a few laps remaining. The green flag dropped but as Tomm hit the gas on the 32DD he could tell something wasn’t right. The car was able to continue and hold off the charging 98HD of Connor Hill for a career best 2nd place finish!

When told about the finish, Tomm’s #1 Fan replied,

“Next time, He’ll be first!!” - Travis Exline, 6

Unfortunately, the crew will have a lot of work to do. When Tomm came into the pits the car was overheating. It was shut off to cool down but did not want to fire back up when it was time to load on to the trailer.

“The night was bittersweet, It was the best finish I’ve ever had, the car was hooked up, but I hurt the motor. My crew will see if we’ll have it fixed for the next race, but plan on being back for the eve of destruction at the latest. I want to send a special thank you out to MKM and Jake at Exline Renovations for the help this year as well as all of my other sponsors.” - Tomm
