Albany-Saratoga Speedway – Full 8 Sports Marketing – With the weather cooperating and the grandstands full, the 21k took to the track for warm ups. Unfortunately, the car was not set up for the heavy track and Stephen battled a tight car. The team time-trailed 29th out of 32 cars in the sportsman division.
The team made some adjustments for the heat race. Rolling off 6th, Stephen was able to gain positions quickly. The 21k was fast and crossed the checkers in 3rd place.
The sun went down, and the limited sportsman lined up for the feature. Stephen would line up on the 4th row. Stephen worked the bottom of the track and was able to make a few passes. While lap times fell off across the board, Stephen was able to keep a consistence pace running in the front of the pack. Towards the end of the race, lap traffic became a factor. While battling with a lap car, Stephen was passed finishing the race in 6th. The winning car was disqualified in tech which would ultimately leave Stephen with a top 5 finish!
“The night went really well! The car felt great, I was able to drive it in harder and it would stick where ever I put it! We tried some new set up stuff and it really worked, especially on the dry, slick track conditions.” - Stephen
Overall, Stephen went home happy with his performance once again. He has continued to learn more about his cars reactions to changing track conditions and is ready to keep the ball rolling next Friday.
