Albany-Saratoga Speedway Full 8 Sports Marketing - The 6R Troyer of Heath Racing timed 10th fastest in warm ups, which set the expectations high for the night. The Heath Racing 6R started 4th in the 3rd heat. After an early race restart, the 6R jumped the cushion coming out of turn two to avoid a slower car, bringing out the caution. On the restart, two cars got together on the backstretch. To avoid the wreck, the 6R went to the infield and slid into an infield tire. Heath brought the car back to the pits and the crew quickly assessed the damage and began making repairs needed to prepare for the feature. They found a broken shock mount among other minor things.

The DNF in the heat race meant the 6R would start deep in the field for the feature. Heath Started 27th in a field of 30 cars. The 6R worked its way forward as soon as the green flag dropped using the high and low sides of the track. On lap 11, two cars came together on the back stretch causing the 00 of Lou Torres to barrel roll down the length of the back stretch. This wreck immediately brought out the red flag and stopped the field in order to attend to Torres. While under red, the rains came and track officials pulled the plug on the night. At the time of the red, the 6R was P15.

No Announcement has been made yet in regards to the Limited Sportsman feature being considered a complete event or if the race will be finished at a later date. Please check the Ryan Heath 6R Racing Facebook page for updates.

“I was extremely happy with the way the car ran Friday night. Unfortunately, things happened in our heat and we ended up with the DNF. In the feature the car really surprised me, it was extremely fast, balanced and went wherever I wanted it to go. We were making great forward progress when the Lou Torres flip happened. I was two cars behind him, what a scary ride!”
In all, it was a good night. We started deep in the field and worked our way up to 15th. I could utilize the top and bottom to navigate around cars. I really think we could have had a top ten if the race went the distance. Next week we need to improve on our qualifying, we have a fast car and I can’t wait to start up front!” -Ryan Heath
