Glen Ridge Motorsports ParkFull 8 Sports Marketing – Heath Racing headed west for their first attempt at the fast ¼ mile at Glen Ridge Motorsports Park. While Heath struggled with an extremely loose race car early in the night, by the time they rolled out for the feature, the car was ready to go.

This week was the last week for heat race draws. Ryan drew the number 60 chip which would start him on the outside of the third row in a field of 10 cars. Battling with the 6r, that was still loose, Ryan maintained his position finishing 6th in the heat race.

“Being our first time at the Ridge we really didn’t know what to expect. We missed the set up pretty bad and had an extremely loose car to start the night. After our warm ups and heat race we had to make multiple adjustments to the car.” - Ryan

In the pits, the team went to work and attacked the 6r Troyer to get the set up corrected. A dry and slick race track proved very difficult to get bite, and some large holes coming out of turn four bounced the cars around. Ryan would start the feature in 6th place. As he rolled onto the track surface, the team hoped they had made all the necessary adjustments to get the grip Ryan needed for the 20 lap race.

Headed into turn 1 after the drop of the green flag, the car didn’t set right. Ryan would again have to fight a loose car although, it was much better than it had been. The challenges did not end there as a large hole developed off turn 4 eliminating the high line, the preferred line for the 6r. As Ryan searched for a new line, the caution flags flew. The 6r would fire off 5th in the only restart of the race. After a long green flag run, Ryan would cross the finish line in 4th. A failure in post-race inspection would disqualify the original race winner for a non-compliant engine component. Ryan and the Heath Racing crew would leave with a 3rd place finish!

“What a Night! Finishing top 5 my first time out to the ridge was a great feeling, and to walk away with a top three feels even better!! My crew worked there butts off and without them I could not have put the run together that I did. It was the morale booster we needed!” - Ryan
